Using a variety of 1980s radios connected via a headphone output to the computer, i tuned in - across the entire bandwidth - of the mw and lw channels. I also captured the static hiss of those bands, 'dead air'. There are small clips of various stations along the way but i was looking for that 'tuning in' sound that was so familiar when radio was the central part of every teenager's life.

Foley recording trying to simulate a weasel walking but could work as any other small to medium sized animal footsteps. Here we used a sandbox with sand, dirt, dry grass and some gravel. Yet another "low, bassy thing". Will sound better once downloaded as the preview function sometimes adds compression artifacts. This one is loopable and might produce a mildly stupefied mental state in some listeners. So if you go and load it into your ipod don't try operating a vehicle or playing with power tools.

A very low frequency tone/drone made with the studiofactory software synth. It's a cross-mod of the perlin tone generator with a formant generator. This is about as low and loud as my current speaker/amplifier system allows. Use with care i. E. Turn down your playback systems output before you play it. Final mastering was done with audacity.

Black noh snare was used for the snare, with a resonator and reverb placed on top of it, as well as eq and compression. Hcx was used for the hihats, with one eq plugin placed on it. The master channel got brickwalled (or bricked) using compressivecm vst.
